This has been atough winter for steelheading. Lots of rain and blown out rivers. We have managed to pull plenty of fish but it took a ton of work and effort to do so most of the time. There were some great water and fishing days interspersed with some seriously tough days, and days we just couldn't fish.
The last week has been jhot with lots of large winter steelhead being caught daily. The rivers are cleaing and in great shape. All of the local Oregon and Washington rivers have been producing well. Speing Chinook are showing in greater numbers and come April this fishery will be in full swing. The numbers will build into May so get ready to start whacking the best tasting Chinook of the year.
