| The Chehalis is an amazingly productive river. Salmon start to move upriver with the first rains of fall. Wave after wave of Coho, Chinook, and Chum move up the Chehalis with each new rain. The majority of our fishing on this river involves casting plugs and spinners. We also back troll plugs and bait. Fly fishing is very effective on the Chehalis. The fish are strong and ready to fight, having swum only a few miles from the coast. Winter Steelhead fishing on the Chehalis produces some chrome bright monsters during the winter months. This river produces some true hawg’s that make even the veteran Steelheader shake in the knees. Fish over 20 lbs are caught here regularly during the winter months. These fish are Steelheading’s Holy Grail. Monster Steelhead are a fish that men have been known to sacrifice jobs, wives, and homes to pursue. These fish leap, rip out line, and do everything they can to destroy you and your fishing gear. Join me for the steelheading adventure of a lifetime on this unique and productive river. |
