Fly Fishing
The Grays River is a light tackle fisherman’s dream. This river varies from small to tiny with clear water, with a variety of small holes and runs. You will find yourself sight fishing for chrome bright steelhead in the low clear water. This is challenging and exceptionally rewarding fishing. Nothing can beat seeing a steelhead respond to your lure or fly. We fish this unique and personable river with fly and spinning rods. Float and jig fishing is the preferred method with spinning gear. We wade the river, moving along its length to catch its chrome steelhead. First you spot your quarry, slowly stalking close to its holding spot. You carefully position your self for the perfect cast. Bent over at the waist you gently make the cast, mend your line, and watch the fish. You see the fish slide sideways a bit and rise. You see the flash of a white mouth and the line twitches. You set the hook hard and ten pounds of angry fish rages to the surface. Thrashing and spraying water as it rips downriver. The battle rages back and forth between you. You can see every turn and twist the fish makes and eventually slip that silver bullet up on the bank for a quick victory shot.
